Obituary

Hollis "Holly" Virginia Arentz, 98, of Hanover, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at ManorCare, Dallastown.  She was the loving wife of James "Jim" A.D. Arentz who died December 23, 2010.

She was born May 3, 1923 in Lineboro, MD, the daughter of the late Harry and Sadie (Albin) Rother.

Mrs. Arentz received her Registered Nurse degree from Maryland General Hospital where she was an operating room nurse.  In 1948 she and Jim were married and they moved to Hanover where she was employed at Hanover General Hospital as an operating room nurse for five years. After retiring from nursing, she was a very active member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover, the YW Wives and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She and her husband loved to travel and they visited every state in the nation.  Mrs. Arentz enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family, making birthdays and holidays special for them.

She is survived by her sons, Bradley Arentz and wife Joan, Hanover and James "Max" Arentz and wife Carol, Hanover; sisters, Delores Rother, Glenville, Arlene Hill, Lineboro, MD and Carol Reed and husband Wade, Glenville; grandchildren, Luke Arentz and wife Laura, Erin Robinson and husband Shaun, Jared Arentz and wife Ashley, Matthew Arentz and wife Brenda Moreau-Arentz, and Jana Marie Arentz and great grandchildren, James Patrick Robinson, Sophie Frances Robinson, Lincoln Maxwell Arentz and Jackson James Arentz.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Harry, Jr. and Roger Rother.

Funeral service and interment will be private.
