Isaiah L. Hardy was born on May 9, 1943 to Mack and Annie Mae (nee Johnson) Hardy in North Augusta, South Carolina. He is the youngest of six siblings, and in his youth, Isaiah enjoyed baseball and track. Upon graduating from high school, Isaiah enlisted into the United States Marine Corp and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. It was during his time in service that he met Mary Hardy (nee Smith) and they married on October 12, 1968.
Isaiah went on to attend college and graduated from Essex Community College with an Associate of Arts degree, and also graduated from Towson State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Isaiah also began a career at Navistar International where he worked for 30 years. Yet, there was more in store for Isaiah's destiny. Isaiah also enjoyed studying the precious Word of God.
Called to ministry, Isaiah was licensed by the Church of God in Christ in Baltimore, MD on September 18, 1986 and in 1988, Isaiah and his wife began God's People Union Worship Center. In 2002, the church's name was updated to Excell Ministries International, and Isaiah continued to pastor there until retirement in 2018. Afterwards, Isaiah continued to serve by becoming a member and Associate Minister at Apostolic Ministries, shepherded by Pastor Wayne Hammonds, in Hanover, PA.
Isaiah is preceded in death by his wife, Mary and daughter, Cherene; his brother, Eddie Lee Hardy and sister, Ella Mae Hardy Samuels. He is survived by his sisters Minnie Hawkins, Esteen Mabry, and brother, Amos Hardy; his oldest son, Christopher and his wife, LaTonya; his daughter, Melissa; his youngest son, Marcus; and his grandchildren, Andrea, Samantha and Kiara.
A service to celebrate the life of Isaiah L. Hardy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Apostolic Ministries Church, 955 Baltimore Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. N. Wayne Hammonds officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Isaiah's memory to Apostolic Ministries Church at the address above.
