Jack E. Grim, 81 of Hanover passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, February 17, 2024.  He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Ann L. (Smith) Grim, whom he married on July 31, 1981.

Born December 17, 1942 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Richard H., Sr. and Dorothea E. M. (Zortman) Grim.

Mr. Grim was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  He worked for 30 years at Emeco Furniture Company, then for 10 years at Bookspan (now Doubleday Books), retiring in 2010.  In his free time, he loved fishing and working with his hands, creating many woodworking projects that now fill his home with cherished memories.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by five children: Eric B. Grim of Hanover, Alicia Keeler and her husband Dan of Hanover, Jonathan M. Grim and his wife Marybeth of Lynchburg, VA and Rebecca L. Grim of Hanover; former daughter-in-law Megan Grim; two sisters: Evelyn Crowl of Hanover and Marlene Wilt of Henderson, NV; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark A. Grim, as well as five siblings: Richard H. Grim, Jr., Kenneth Grim, Goldie Caldwell, Edith Zachs and Shirley Sipling.

A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 11am on Monday, February 26th at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Pastor Ed Brower officiating.  A time to gather with the family and share memories will also be on Monday at the funeral home from 10am until the start of the service.
