James Francis
Rudisill
Nov 14, 1946 — May 25, 2025
James Francis Rudisill, 78, of Westminster, formerly of the Hanover and Spring Grove area, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at his home. He was the devoted husband of Brenda (Hughes) Rudisill; together they shared 58 years of marriage, building a life filled with love and cherished memories.
Born on November 14, 1946, in Hanover, he was the son of the late J. Francis and Geraldine E. "Deanie" (Buie) Rudisill.
James was raised in Spring Grove and graduated from Spring Grove High School with the Class of 1964. He continued his education at Penn State University, where he studied accounting. His passion for technology led him to computer science at a time when it was still an emerging field, making him a true pioneer. Over the years, James served as the Director of Software Process Improvement, lending his expertise to numerous banks, insurance companies, and laboratories throughout the Baltimore area. His work played a vital role in improving software efficiency and productivity, and he even authored a book on the subject.
A man of deep faith, James was committed to the Lord and had a lifelong devotion to Jesus Christ. In recent years, he became an ordained Reverend through the United Christian Church & Ministerial Association in Cleveland, TN. He was a dedicated member of Meadow Branch Church in Westminster, where he enjoyed teaching adult Bible studies and volunteering his time. He was well-known within the church community and always delighted in making new friends and sharing in fellowship.
In his free time, James loved hunting for bargains while shopping and doting on his beloved little dog. He also loved studying the history of the Bible and exploring how current events are related to the Bible's teachings. Above all, he cherished his family and took great joy in being a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by his three children: Tammy L. Black and her husband, Kenneth, of Westminster; Jeffrey F. Rudisill of Carthage, MS; and Holly A. Amir and her husband, Jacob, of St. Petersburg, FL. He was a proud grandfather to Marilyn Wetzel, Cassandra Black, Jacqueline Black-Stover, Autumn Parker, Joshua Rudisill, Emily Parker, Aaron Rudisill, Michael Rudisill, Ariel Amir, and Mia Amir; and a doting great-grandfather to Eugene Wetzel, Theodore Wetzel, and Lily Pearl Parker. James is also survived by his brother, Steven Rudisill, as well as many loving extended family members and dear friends.
A service to celebrate the life of James will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Peter's Lischey's United Church of Christ, 5671 Lischeys Church Rd, Spring Grove, PA, with Rev. Amy Bell officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lischey's Church Cemetery, Spring Grove. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Black, Daniel Wetzel, Hunter Stover, Jeffrey Rudisill, Joshua Rudisill, and Jacob Amir.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James' memory may be made to Meadow Branch Church, 818 Old Taneytown Rd, Westminster, MD 21158.
