Obituary

Jean K. (Frock) Herman, 86 of Hanover passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Born January 18, 1937 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Kathryn A. (Blocher) Frock.

She is fondly remembered for her best advice, "take a chance!".  She cherished and adored her family and children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a 1954 graduate of Eichelberger High School. She served a long, 30 plus year career and retired as a Product Packer from Utz Quality Foods in Hanover. A long time, faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hanover, she volunteered in many church programs, including music ministry as a pianist. She also loved animals, music, dancing, reading, watching old movies and going out to eat.

Jean is survived by three daughters: Kathy J. Kimmey and her husband Steven of Hanover, Susan J. Hart and her husband Michael of Hollywood, FL and Peggy L. Mummert and her husband Clifford of Hanover; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two step-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings: Russell W. Frock and Linda L. Frock-Rohrbeck.

A funeral service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11am on Monday, January 15th at St. Matthew Lutheran Church; 30 W. Chestnut St. in Hanover with Rev. Faye Snyder officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Monday at the church from 10am until the start of the service.  Following the service and cemetery committal, the family invites all attendees to join them and "go Dutch" at Hoss's Steak and Sea House; 1180 Carlisle St. in Hanover for continued fellowship.

For those who wish to send floral arrangements, please have pieces delivered to the church by 8:30am on Monday.
