Obituary

Joan C. (Domzalski) Bane, 74, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at her daughter's home. She was the devoted wife of the late Raymond E. Bane, Sr., with whom she shared 20 years of marriage until his passing in 1995.

Born on Thursday, August 3, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Louise (Markwordt) Domzalski.

Joan was raised in Baltimore and was a proud graduate of Patterson High School. She went on to build a 30-year career with Walmart and Sam's Club, where her dedication and cheerful personality left a lasting impact on coworkers and customers alike.

Joan was the heart of her family and a loving mother whose nurturing spirit extended far beyond her own children; she helped raise countless others and was "Mom Mom" to many. Known for her selflessness, Joan always put others first and would quite literally give you the shirt off her back. Her radiant positivity and warm smile were a comfort to all who knew her. Fittingly, her favorite color was yellow; a reflection of the light and joy she brought into the lives of those around her.

She was a proud Baltimore sports fan, cheering on her beloved Orioles and Ravens with her son Ray. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo, taking beach trips, and savoring a good slushie, she was a true connoisseur. And when it came to seasoning crabs, she had very particular (and very correct) opinions.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Lisa L. Rogers and husband William of Hanover; her sons, William Bane and fiancée Kelsi of Hanover, and Raymond Bane, III of Hanover; her grandchildren, Jayden Toms and husband Logan of Hanover, Barbara Bane of Westminster, and Jacob Bane of Hanover, Alyssa Rogers of Hanover, Oakley Bane of Hanover, Jeremy Kuhn of Hanover, Gage Kuhn of Hanover and Willow Kuhn of Hanover, Cody Rogers of Watsontown and Lexie Rogers of Watsontown; and her great-grandchildren, Kodha and Easton. She is also survived by her sisters: Geri Sullivan, Valerie Buerhaus, and Kathy Busch; and by many loving extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her and call her "Mom Mom."

In addition to her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by her three brothers: Edward, Martin, and Albert Domzalski.

There will be no public viewing. Following cremation, a memorial celebration of Joan's life will be held at a later date. The Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan's memory to Pink Out, Inc., 1150 Carlisle Street, Suite 10, Box 189, Hanover, PA 17331.
