John B. Bell, Jr., 69, of Hanover, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family.  He was the loving husband of Rose A. (Arnold) Bell who died June 2, 2012.

Born January 6, 1953 in Hanover, he was the son of the late John B., Sr. and Grace A. (Sager) Bell.

John was a skilled diesel mechanic, working for 18 years with C.J. Miller, Hampstead, MD, 10 years for Daniel G. Schuster Concrete, Owings Mills, MD and was self-employed for 10 years at Bell's Auto Repair, New Oxford, retiring in 2018.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending races at Lincoln Speedway.  When he was young, he drove Enduro race cars.  John was a member of Harvest Time Temple and enjoyed working on cars, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Matthew R. Bell and wife Linda, Hanover; daughter, Teena Stine and husband Rodger, Hanover; sister, Tammy Schrader, Columbia; brother, Jeff Bell, East Berlin; grandchildren, Matthew A. Bell, Liam Bell, James Bell, Katie Stine and Rodger Stine, Jr. and wife Josephine; great grandchildren, Christina Stine, Madison Stine, RoseAnn Stine and Stephany Stine and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 11 AM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Rev. Cindy Orewiler officiating.  A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday, July 12 ^th from 6 to 8 PM and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until the start of the service, both at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.  Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Bell, Chris Moore, Josh Bennett, Rodger Stine, Sr., Rodger Stine, Jr. and Katie Stine.
