We are deeply saddened that on December 22, 2022, John Leo Green, 73, took his final flight to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Judy Green, together they shared 33 years of marriage.

Born January 21 ^st , 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John L. Green; Joan McGroarty Green.

As an Air Force veteran, John had an eternal passion for flying and made a career as a professional pilot and flight instructor. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of The Quiet Birdmen, Harrisburg Hanger. John was a loving husband and grandfather; he cherished his family and loved spending time with them.  John graduated from Central Catholic High School in Kingston, Pa., in 1967 and attended Penn State University. Following graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Lakenheath Air Force Base in England.  He was a long time member of The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus and Hanover Home Association.

In addition to his wife, John will be dearly missed by his daughter, Megan Green DeWitt, and her husband, Jeremy of Richmond, VA; his stepdaughter, Traci Stahl and her husband Derek of Delray Beach, FL; his two granddaughters, Charlotte and Savannah DeWitt and many other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, John was proceeded in death by his sister Bonnie L. Green.

A Service to celebrate the life of John L. Green will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 28 ^th , 2023 at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover PA.  A time to share memories with the family will be from 1pm until the time of the service.
