Obituary

John B. Kling, 66, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover. He was the loving husband of Carol J. (Baumgardner) Kling; together they would have celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary on July 11th.

Born August 8, 1956 in Bel Air, Maryland, he was the son of the late Clarence B. and Gene (Trump) Kling.

John was a proud terrapin graduate of the University of Maryland.  He had a passion for classic cars, especially his 1974 AMC Javelin, and was a member of the Potomac Ramblers Car Club.  John was a great friend and loved to spoil his family, earning him several fun nicknames like Mr. Belvedere and Grub Hubby.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by two daughters, Alicia Clingan and her husband Michael of Toston, MT, Amber Klinedinst and her husband Chad of York Springs; four grandchildren, Noah Klinedinst, Kaine Klinedinst, Aida Klinedinst, and Sophia Klinedinst. Mr. Kling is also survived by many loving extended family members and dear friends.

There will be no public viewing. Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate the life of John will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Chad Klinedinst officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to York County SPCA, 3159 N Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
