John Aaron Lockwood, 79, of Hanover passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2022 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Village, Hanover, due to complications from ongoing health conditions.

Mr. Lockwood was born December 15, 1942 in Bradford, PA to Dillas Aaron Lockwood and Kathryn Marie (Coffman) Lockwood. He was the eldest of six children and was preceded in death by his siblings: James, Judith, Jerry, Jacquelin, Jeanne.

John was raised in Ridgway, PA and spent the last 50 years living in the Hanover area where the family is members of First United Methodist Church. He worked in the field of water/wastewater treatment for more than 40 years, and volunteered with various community organizations.  Mr. Lockwood was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan who also enjoyed hunting, traveling, square dancing, and southern gospel concerts.

John is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Donna, two sons, and one grandson: David of Norristown, PA, and Philip Aaron and his wife Pamela and Henry Aaron of Ellicott City, MD.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Classroom Building (Marina Rd.) at Codorus State Park on Friday, May 13 ^th . Visitation begins at 3pm with a service at 5pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to SpiriTrust Lutheran Benevolent Care Fund, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, York, PA 17404 or to First United Methodist Church of Hanover, 200 Frederick St, Hanover, PA 17331.
