Joseph W. Lonczynski, 71 of York passed away peacefully at York North Skilled Nursing & Rehab on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024.

Born December 8, 1952 in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Walter J. And Charlotte M. (Green) Lonczynski.

Mr. Lonczynski is fondly remembered for his keen wit and sense of humor.  He also loved sports, especially baseball and football, and had a great collection of athlete trading cards.  He also enjoyed contributing his own athletic talents as a member of the Mile High Club Softball Team.

Joseph is survived by six children: Jaime L. Sullivan and her husband Micah of Hanover, Meghan A. Lonczynski of Hanover, Joseph Lonczynski and his wife Laura of Arizona, Shelly Andrews of Maryland, Logan Lonczynski of Pennsylvania and Kim Hart and her companion Dan of Hanover, as well as nine grandchildren: Taylor, Kyra, Tyler, Olivia, Leah, Seth, Caleb, Lyla and Ryder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Lonczynski and his brother, Stephen Lonczynski.

A funeral service to celebrate Joseph's life will held at 2pm on Saturday, September 7th at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Pastor Mark Rohnke officiating, during which military honors in tribute to Joseph's service to our country will be rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be at the funeral home on Saturday from 1pm until the start of the service.

Immediately following the service at the funeral home, all in attendance are invited to join the family for a fellowship luncheon at Missionary Bible Baptist Church; 920 Beck Mill Rd. in Hanover.
