Judith (Judy) Rupert Lundquist, 76, of Hanover, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at her home. She was the loving wife of Albert (Al) Lundquist; together they shared over 54 years of marriage.
Born October 1, 1946, in Albany, NY, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Arthur W. and Jean E. (Morrison) Rupert.
Judy grew up in Albany, NY and graduated from Albany High School in 1964. After high school she went on to obtain her bachelor's degree from Rochester University (1968) and later went on to earn her MBA from Adelphi University. Judy was a devoted and loving wife and mother and spent many years as a stay at home mom. She worked as a floral designer at Hicks Nurseries, a garden center, in Westbury, NY, and attended the Community Church of East Williston in New York, where she was a very active member. In 2007, Judy and Al retired and moved to Hanover and became active members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She played in the bell choir, served as an usher, delivered flowers, and served on the board for Discovery Place Preschool. Judy also enjoyed volunteering at the Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover. In her free time, Judy enjoyed reading, playing bridge, knitting, and doing arts and crafts. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by her three children: Erik Lundquist of Cobleskill, NY; Karin Lundquist of Baltimore, MD; Matthew Lundquist and his wife Jennifer, and their children Lucy and Oliver, of Baltimore, MD; two brothers: Peter Rupert of Charleston, SC; and Terry Rupert and his wife Ellen of Loudonville, NY. Judy is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Rupert.
Judy's family would like to express their gratitude to the Visiting Angels and VNA Hospice Care for their help, care, and support.
