Karen E. Laughman, 66, of Abbottstown, entered heaven on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Gettysburg Hospital.  She was the loving wife of Eugene L. Laughman, Abbottstown; together they celebrated 42 years of marriage on October 10, 2023.

Born March 28, 1957 in York, she was the daughter of the late Sterling Herman Landis and Trevadell Mae (Crone) Landis.

Karen graduated in 1975 from Spring Grove Area High School and later from the Hanover LPN School.  She retired from the Brethren Home at Cross Keys after 25 years and previously worked at SKF Industries, Hanover.  Karen was a life member of the Gettysburg and National Antique Automobile Club of America. She enjoyed quilting, reading, word puzzles, gardening, stamping up making greeting cards, yard sales and crocheting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brothers and sisters, Kevin Landis and wife Kelly, Thomasville, Kenneth Landis and wife Missy, York, Kathryn Forry, Dallastown and Kristina Martin and husband Dan, Spring Grove; father-in-law, Francis L. Laughman, East Berlin; sister-in-law, Linda Waltimyer and husband Tom, Spring Grove; brother-in-law, Wayne Laughman, East Berlin and seven nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Karen E. Laughman will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11 AM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Allen Hersh officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Saturday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery, York New Salem.  Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Waltimyer, Justin Landis, Matt Landis, Joshua Landis, Burnell Laughman and Tom Laughman.
