Obituary

Karen Lee Rider, 63 of Hanover, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Christopher C. Rider; together they shared 34 years of marriage.

Born October 19, 1957 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Mary-Jane Carver.

In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by her three sons, Wil Rider, Brandon Rider, and Shawn Rider. Karen was also the best Gramie to five grandbabies, Savannah, Charlotte, Lanie, Madison, and Dylan. Her family will forever miss her and will live in honor of her memory.

Many in our community will remember Karen from South Western Friday night football games where she could be heard ringing her infamous Mustang branded cowbell nonstop while screaming for every player on the field. She will also be remembered for providing so many with her delicious baked goods, including her fan favorite pumpkin roll. Chris and Karen retired from work to open Sweet Treats Bakery of Hanover, which they grew together before closing in 2019. Karen more recently worked at and loved her job, residents, and staff at Homewood at Plum Creek.

There will be no public viewing or memorial service.
