Karl J. Whisler, 66 of Hanover passed away peacefully at UPMC Harrisburg on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

Born December 20, 1955 in Hanover, he was a son of Merle H. Whisler and the late Marie E. (Shaffer) Whisler.

Karl spent many years in shoe sales management for Hanover Shoe/ Clark Shoes and was employed by Wetzel Funeral Home. Karl devoted much time to his church serving on consistory, teaching Sunday school, helping with service projects, and volunteering for committees. Karl was an avid reader and sports fan. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. He loved being an uncle and great uncle.

In addition to his father, Karl is survived by 2 siblings: Joleen Fennell and her husband, Charles of Hanover and Roger Whisler and his wife, Beth, of Evans City, PA, as well as 6 nieces & nephews and 7 great-nieces & nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Karl's life will be held April 23rd, 11:00 am, at Grace UCC 4th St. in Hanover with Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. Following the service, the burial will be held in private by the family in Rest Haven Cemetery. A time to share memories and gather with the family will also be on Saturday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am.
