Kathleen (Wenger) Landvater, 95, of Hanover, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home. She was the loving wife of Robert Landvater; together they shared almost 70 years of marriage.
Born June 15, 1926 in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Elmer S. and Esther (Rohrer) Wenger.
Her joy of nursing included working in Lancaster & Hanover hospitals, private duty, and head nurse at Homewood for a total of 44 years. She enjoyed traveling, hiking, sailing, cooking, gardening, entertaining guests, and having missionaries for meals. She was a longtime member of Calvary Bible Church in Hanover, PA.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Landvater is survived by a sister, Mary Esther Love of Lancaster, PA; a son, Dennis Landvater of Hanover, PA; a daughter Donna married to Paul Ringenberg of Greenville, SC; eight grandchildren, Rebekah, Paul, Peter, Ruth married to Nathan DePue, Rachel married to Stephen Mason, Rose married to Nathan Maederer, Rosalyn married to Kenny Anderson, Priscilla married to Micah Gold, and two great-grandchildren, Tobias and Thatcher Maederer, as well as six step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Sommer and Marcella Brubaker.
There will be no public viewing. A service to celebrate the life of Kathleen will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Garry Wilt officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover.
