Kathy L.
Wakefield
Oct 23, 1954 — Jan 25, 2022
Kathy L. Wakefield, 67 of Hanover passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Kathy courageously battled Parkinson's for several years, but despite her daily challenges she was incredibly joyful, her quick wit made those around her laugh, and her smile lit up any room she was in.
Born October 23, 1954, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Auburn (Kelly) Wakefield. She was the beloved wife of William J. Wolfe. William and Kathy may have found each other later in life but it was true love from the start. From dancing in the living room to going out to doing day to day care they found happiness in simply being together.
Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting Kathy all describe her as "the sweetest person". She is survived by her children Frank Richter and Melissa Manning, stepchildren Stacey Strayer, Brian Wolfe, and Michael Wolfe. Her family knew her as the storyteller of the family. When Kathy told a story, it was captivating and enthralling. You would be drawn in no matter how many times you heard it.
Despite life's challenges Kathy handled everything with grace, love and kindness. She believed in reinvention and chasing her dreams, bravely switching careers from being a Certified Nursing Assistant to the owner of Fireside Books in Littlestown, PA. Most of all though, she loved her family and friends. Kathy was the type of person that you instantly loved.
There are people in this world that are like sunshine. They bring warmth and comfort when you need it. Kathy was one of those people. She was filled with sunshine, bringing joy, love and compassion to all those around her. She was beloved and her memories will be a beacon carried in the hearts and actions of all her knew her.
There is no public service planned at this time.
