Kenneth "Kenny" A. Welty, Jr., 70, of Gettysburg and formerly of New Oxford, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Gardens at Gettysburg.  He was the loving husband of the late Joan Effie (Becker) Laughman Welty.

Born April 5, 1952 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Kenneth Arthur and Pearl Marguerite (Meckley) Welty.

Kenny was a truck driver with Frock Bros. Trucking, New Oxford for over 30 years, retiring in 2011.  He loved his Harley and enjoyed going to Bike Week in Ocean City, MD.  Kenny was a member of the New Oxford Social Club and the VFW Post 2506, Hanover.  He was an avid Washington Redskins and NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Shultz, McSherrystown; sisters, Sally Simpson and husband Ronald, Abbottstown, Sandy Dell and husband Randy, New Oxford and Sheryl Ritter and husband Randy, York; granddaughter, Samantha Laughman, Carlisle; grandson, Andrew Laughman, East Berlin; great granddaughters, Jayde Ramey and Scarlet Laughman and great grandson, Landon Laughman.

In addition to his wife, Kenny was preceded in death by his son, David Laughman; brother, Larry Welty and son-in-law, Thomas Shultz.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2 PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover with Pastor Scott A. Sager officiating.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 PM until the start of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Simpson, Andrew Laughman, Randy Dell and Jeremy Smith.
