Larry R. Shorb, 57 of Gettysburg passed away on December 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Wentz) Shorb.

Born December 17, 1960 in Hanover, he was the son of John M. and Esther I. (Shorb) Pittman.

Larry was a star athlete in high school, excelling in baseball, basketball, track and cross-country.  He graduated from New Oxford High School in 1979, after which he joined the U.S. Air Force and was medically discharged in 1980 from Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska.

In addition to his wife and parents, Larry is survived by his daughter, Brandi Rebert and her husband, Matthew of Hanover; 3 grandchildren: Kya, Kassidy and Delilah Rebert; 5 siblings: John Shorb, Michael Pittman, Wade Pittman, Marlena Reed and John Pittman, Jr.; 3 step-siblings: Londa, David and Mark, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A funeral service to celebrate Larry's life will be held on Thursday, December 20th at 11am at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory; 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Rev. Fred Mummert officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10am until the time of the service.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, with military honors rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
