Lewis E. Brown, 78, of Hanover passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at home.  He was the husband of the late Joann Adele (Hoke) Brown who died November 27, 2003 after 42 years of marriage.  He is survived by his loving companion of 15 years, Marilyn Miller of Hanover

Born October 26, 1940 in Hanover, PA he was the son of the late Ira Royce and Marie Catherine (Staley) Brown.

Lewis was employed with Emeco Industries in Hanover for 10 years.  He then moved to Florida and was owner/operator of Brown Builders in Summerfield, FL for 25 years.  He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Summerfield and was an avid Nascar fan. Lewis enjoyed wood-working, repairing small engines and putting together model train sets.

His survivors include four children; Cathy A. Mainville and her husband Glenn of Lady Lake, FL, Craig A. Brown and his wife Donna of Jacksonville, FL, Carl A. Brown and his wife Michelle of Oviedo, FL and Wanda L. Kopchinski of Fayetteville, PA; his brothers, Robert Brown of Arizona, Phillip and Michael Brown of Abbottstown; seven grandchildren, Missey Null, Shawn Kopchinski, Nicole Brown, Robyn Brown, Cody Brown, Joshua Brumale and Justin Brown and six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Charlie and Ira Brown.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Lewis Brown will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 6PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating.  A time to share memories with the family will be on Tuesday from 5PM until the start of the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be private.
