Obituary

Linda M. (Zepp) Zinn, aged 75, of Westminster, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Born on November 7, 1948, in Hanover, PA, she was the cherished daughter of the late Austin Robert and Margaret Louise (Glacken) Zepp. Linda was the beloved wife of George R. Zinn, with whom she shared 51 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Linda's life was a testament to her love for her family and community. She was an exceptional cook, known for her warm hospitality and the joy she found in gathering her family and friends for meals and celebrations. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the kitchen; she was a devoted caretaker to her family throughout her life. Linda's love knew no bounds - she adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, showering them with affection and support.

She was also a shrewd small-business owner, running her own tax-preparation firm for 32 years. It was through this business that she met her beloved best friend, Donna Miller.

An avid reader, Linda's thirst for knowledge and love of stories was matched only by her active involvement in St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hanover, PA, where she was a cherished member of the community.

Linda is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, George R. Zinn, and their cherished children along with their spouses: Lisa Fritz and her husband Edward of Glenville, PA; John Patrick Zinn and his wife Jane of Westminster, MD; Michele Jones and her husband Jeffery of Hudson, FL; Sherry L. Flanagan and her husband Mark of Glenville, PA; and Chris R. Zinn and his wife Aubrey of Abingdon, MD. She will also be fondly remembered by her many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother Allan Zepp of Westminster, MD, and a host of extended family members and dear friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.

Linda was preceded in departure by her parents, her daughter Dawn Wetzel, her brother Calvin Zepp, and her granddaughter Mia Zinn, who have all welcomed her into eternal rest.

A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at 4 pm on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA, with Rev. Faye C. Snyder officiating. Family and friends will have the opportunity to share memories and pay their respects from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on the same day. Following cremation, Linda will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Little Warrior Foundation, PO Box 2124, Brookfield WI 53008-2124, or to Roots for Boots, PO Box 213, New Oxford, PA 17350, in honor of Linda's compassionate spirit and lifelong dedication to helping others.
