Lonna M. (Lapham) Noel, age 83, of New Oxford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Cross Keys Village Brethren Home Community. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Noel, who predeceased her in 2001 and loving companion of Ray Hull who passed away in 2023.
Born on August 26, 1940, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, Lonna was the daughter of the late Nelson and Bernice (Jacobs) Lapham. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend who loved playing cards and volunteering with the Harvest of Hope Food Pantry. Lonna loved spending time with her family and embraced every moment with them.
Lonna's memory will be forever cherished by her son, Paul Altland, and his wife, Terri, of Spring Grove; her granddaughter, Allyson Altland of Rochester, NY; her bonus children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jeff Noel and his wife Cheryl of Kissimmee, FL, and Lori Hoke and her husband John of York; Chapin Noel, Jamie Hoke Scott and Tracie Bealer; Renee J. Hull and her husband Sergio Johnson; her cousin Phyllis Bartels; and many loving extended family members and friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Lonna will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. David Witkovsky and Rev. Kim Witkovsky officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 2595 Interstate Drive Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110, or to the Good Samaritan Fund, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350.
