Margaret R. (Lucas) Byrd, 59, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 22nd 2025, at York Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Richard T. "Tom" Byrd. Together, they shared 45 years of love, partnership, and cherished memories.

Born on July 25, 1965, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Margaret was the daughter of the late Walter and Patricia (Packard) Lucas.

Margaret was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she freely gave to those around her.

In addition to her husband, Tom, Margaret is survived by her children: Shane Byrd, and his wife Breanna Santiago and her partner Nina Kenney, Carlos Ramirez; and Kathrine Ramirez the mother of her beloved grandchildren: Mariah, Ahraiah, and Cataleya. Her sisters Shirley, Barbara and her husband Dale, Betty, and her brother Gordon. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews: Doug, Hollie, Charles, Jedd, Sallie, Christina, Charlotte, John, Jon C., Jordan, Kayley, and Lilly, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Margaret Bare. Her brother John David Byrd

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation and viewing on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. A service to celebrate Margaret's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover.
