Margaret K. (Hankey) Snyder, age 92, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2024. Born on June 1, 1932, to Howard and Elsie (Smith) Hankey on the family farm in New Oxford, PA, Margaret lived a life rooted in faith, love, and family.
She was blessed with 56 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Eugene Snyder, who preceded her in death on August 4, 2006. Together, they built a life filled with devotion to one another, raising a close-knit family and creating cherished memories.
Margaret is survived by her loving sister, Evelyn Redding, who was a constant source of support and companionship. She is also survived by her devoted children: Linda McNaughton and husband William, Carol Strouse and husband Jeffrey, and Michael Snyder and wife Magdalena. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Beverly Jarvis, whose memory will forever live in their hearts.
Margaret's legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Her deep love for family was evident in the way she nurtured relationships and passed on traditions that will be carried forward for generations to come.
A woman of strong faith, Margaret was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in New Oxford, PA. Her unwavering belief in God guided her throughout her life, providing comfort and strength to both her and those around her.
At the family's request, services were held privately, with Pastor Roddy Runyan officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Hanover, PA.
Margaret's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
