Marilyn M. (Scheidegger) Nelson, 84 of Hanover passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late James W. Nelson, Jr. for 43 years prior to him passing on January 11, 1997. Marilyn was born December 10, 1937, in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Frederick J. and Catherine M. (Sandman) Scheidegger.

Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked at Pantry Pride for 14 years as a cashier. She retired as a cashier and became a full-time caregiver to her paraplegic husband. She loved her family and cherished spending time with them and her dogs. She loved cooking Sunday dinners for the entire family and found sewing Halloween costumes for her grandchildren as a hobby. Despite life's challenges, Marilyn handled everything with grace, love and kindness that brought warmth and comfort to all those around her.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by 2 children: Julia A. Wilke and Jack P. Nelson, both of Hanover, 6 grandchildren Crystal Myers, Jamie Wilke, Jack Nelson, Fred Nelson, Mihky Nelson, Dana Kelly, 18 great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, James W. Nelson III and Fredrick J. Nelson Sr.

A private service to celebrate the life of Marilyn will be held at a later time.
