Mark D. Kemper, 93, of York, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Autumn House West in York. He was the loving husband of the late Mariam J. (Ashway) Kemper who passed away in 1981.

Born April 12, 1928 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Leonard D. and Grace E. (Merkle) Kemper.

Mark grew up in Hanover and then went on to proudly serve his county during WWII and the Korean War in the United States Merchant Marine and the United States Army. Mr. Kemper then went on to work at Bethlehem Mines in Hanover for over 25 years retiring in 1986; he was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover and in his free time, he enjoyed watching golf and spending time with his family. After his retirement he spent 17 years with his daughter in Orlando, FL working at Sea World and other various jobs to keep himself busy.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to the staff of Autumn House West and Graney Hospice for their compassionate care during this mournful time.

Mark is survived by two children, David Kemper and his wife Marina of Cassville, Jacqulyn Kemper and her spouse Michela Foster of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Gabe Kemper of Broad Top, Dan Kemper of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother, Ronald Kemper of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Kemper.

There will be no public viewing. Following cremation, a graveside service to celebrate the life of Mark D. Kemper will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Rest Haven Cemetery, intersection of Westminster and Boundary Ave., Hanover, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 York St, Hanover, PA 17331.
