Mark K. Weikert, 92, of New Oxford, passed away peacefully just two days before his 93rd birthday on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Cross Keys Village Brethren Home Community. He was the loving husband of Jean L. (Baker) Leister Weikert and the late Anna Mae (Goodhart) Weikert, who passed away in 2008.

Born November 20, 1932, in Mount Pleasant Township, Adams County, he was the son of the late Miles K. and Alice M. (Hauk) Weikert. Mark was a 1950 graduate of Eichelberger High School and went on to attend the Williamson Trade School, graduating with the Class of 1953.

Following his education, Mark proudly served in the United States Army as a medic in Germany from 1953–1955. After returning home, he began his career working for Lynn Myers in Carlisle before establishing himself as an independent masonry contractor throughout Carlisle and Cumberland County, a profession he enjoyed for the remainder of his working life. Mark was also a 50-year member of the Masons, Eureka-West Shore Lodge No. 302, and for many years he was a very active member of Leesburg United Methodist Church.

Mark embraced life fully and had many passions. He loved playing golf, enjoyed ballroom dancing, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He also had a deep love of music, which stayed with him throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, Jean, Mark is survived by his step-children: Kathy Orewiler and her husband Orrin, Chris Abrams, Heidi Haafke and her husband Ron, and Dan Leister; as well as seven grandchildren and cousins, and nieces and nephews, including Leslie Weikert, Carol Walk, and Carla Miller and her husband Scott & their families.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Mark was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Millard Weikert and his wife Pat and Maynard Weikert and his wife Pat, and one of Jean's sons, Andy.
