Obituary

Mary Louise (Hippensteel) Weaver, 95 of Hanover passed away peacefully at her lifelong home surrounded by her family on Monday, May 22, 2023, only 30 days before her 96th birthday.

Born June 21, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Edward L. and Marie I. (Barnhart) Hippensteel.

Mary was a faithful member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Hanover.  She was a long time employee of Miller Chemical, and later retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Hanover Quarry. Mary is fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and she cherished special family gatherings.  She also loved and adored her special chicken, Nancy.  Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to Railside Restaurant for the kindness they provided.  Shortly before her passing, Mary asked that everyone who helped her and prayed for her receive her heartfelt thanks and blessing.

Mary is survived by four children: Robert Weaver and his partner, Deb of Newberrytown, Barbara Weaver and her partner, Millard of New Oxford, Deb Weaver of Hanover and Brenda Weaver and her partner, Rick of Hanover, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters: June Weaver and Lois Anne Weaver Meckley; four grandchildren: Peter, Maria and Michael Weaver and Kenneth Meckley, her partner, William "Bill" Noel, as well as her siblings.

A Mass of Christian burial to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 27th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church; 220 3rd St. in Hanover with Rev. Michael P. Reid II officiating. Interment will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Cemetery.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be at the Church on Saturday from 11am until the Mass begins.
