Mary I
Morelock
Aug 5, 1932 — Jan 21, 2026
Mary I. (Wetzel) Morelock, 93, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at York Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Morelock, Jr. Together, they shared 71 years of marriage a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership, until his passing in 2022.
Born August 5, 1932, in Spring Grove, Mary was the daughter of the late Raymond G. and Margaret (Pifer) Wetzel-Walker. A lifelong resident of the community she loved, Mary lived a life marked by dedication, creativity, and quiet grace.
She worked for many years as a seamstress, retiring from Danskin. Exceptionally talented with needle and thread, Mary lovingly created many of the dance outfits she and Dick wore when they took to the dance floor, where they were known as quite the striking couple. Dancing was one of their greatest shared joys.
Mary found peace in tending to her rose garden and spent countless hours watching hummingbirds flutter by. She was also a devoted bowler, a passion she shared with Dick throughout their married life, only recently "retiring" her bowling ball. In faith and fellowship, Mary was a longtime member of St. Paul's (Dubs) Church.
In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Darrell S. Morelock.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Lease; her brothers, Richard Wetzel and his wife Pat, and Terry Wetzel and his wife Lisa; and her two beloved cats, who were constant companions. Mary cherished time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, gentle spirit, and devotion to those she loved.
Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. Paul's (Dubs) Union Church, 1958 Dubs Church Road, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Dr. Martha Boyer officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Dubs Cemetery, Hanover.
