Mary L. (Reimold) Pifer, 92, formerly of Spring Grove, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Cross Keys Brethren Home. She was the wife of Melvin Roy Pifer who passed away February 9, 2011.
Born February 9, 1926 in York, PA she was the daughter of the late Paul C. and Lillian V. (Bahn) Reimold.
Mary was employed at Jayson's Sewing Factory and Twin Pine Butcher Shop for a number of years. She was known for her delicious cooking and baked goods. During her time at Cross Keys Brethren Home the family was repeatedly told how much her smile meant to her caregivers.
Mrs. Pifer is survived by her daughters; Sylvia Spyker of Hanover and Juanita Gonzalez and her husband Tony of Hanover; her siblings, Samuel Reimold of Stewartstown and Leah Sterner of Hanover; her grandchildren, Sheldon Spyker and his wife Florence of Bridgewater, MA, Alicia Bosserman and her husband John of Abbottstown and Jose Gonzalez and his wife Kelley of Louisville, OH; and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul Reimold, Elsie Miller, Anna Krout, Sarah Keeny, Esther Mercado, Elizabeth Reimold; her son-in-law Jay Spyker and a great grandchild.
A service to celebrate the life of Mary Pifer will be held at 11am Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 at Hanover Evangelical Brethren Church, 925 Broadway, Hanover with Pastor James Keaton, Jr. officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be from 10am until the time of the service Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Union Church Cemetery, Stoverstown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mary may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, South Central PA Chapter, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
