Mary A. Roller, 83, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Inners Creek Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Dallastown. She was the wife of Donald L. Roller, Sr. who died August 29, 1999.
Born September 4, 1939 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Louise A. (Hahn) Kemper.
Mrs. Roller was first employed at L.E. Baudin Shoe Factory, Hanover and later at Middleburg Manufacturing, Hanover for 22 years. She retired from AMP/Tyco, East Berlin where she worked for 25 years. Mrs. Roller was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover where she was a Cub Scout den mother for 20 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, attending Blue Grass music festivals and camping at Raystown Lake.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Roller and wife Lori, East Berlin; grandson, Justin Roller and wife Erin, Middletown; granddaughter, Leslie Roller, York; great grandchildren, Kyleigh and Kiersten Roller, Middletown and sister, Gloria Bortner, Thomasville.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald L. Roller, Jr. and sisters Doris L. Kemper and Joan M. Kemper.
A service to celebrate the life of Mary A. Roller will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 11 AM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Rev. Julia Beall officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover. There will be a luncheon at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover immediately following the burial. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Roller, Tony Woodrow, Roy Sloop, Dean Smith, Mike Ort and Dave Tipler.
