Mason Thomas Smith, a vibrant soul who lived fearlessly in the face of adversity, passed away on December 29, 2023, embraced by God's eternal care after a courageous battle with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Born on December 28, 2005, in York, he was the beloved son of Jeffrey L. and Jennifer L. (Jones) Smith.
Mason's journey was one of resilience and unyielding spirit, living each day to the fullest despite the challenges posed by cancer. He found joy in horror movies, strumming his guitar, the thrill of hunting and fishing, and the raw energy of all things metal. As a proud senior at York Tech, he eagerly anticipated graduating and embarking on his career as a welder.
His legacy resides in the memories he created and the hearts he touched. Mason's family and friends will forever cherish his presence and celebrate his life with gratitude for the time shared. He now rests free from the grip of illness, undoubtedly turning heaven's corners in search of death metal.
