Maurice "Ike" D. Myers, 95 of New Oxford passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 9, 2026. He was the beloved husband of 75 years to the late Mary L. (Crabbs) Myers until her passing on December 12, 2025.
Born January 19, 1931 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Herman T. and Alice S. (Miller) Myers.
Ike and his beloved wife, Mary were the owners of Crabb's Tropical Treat in Hanover and always appreciated their loyal patrons. They also did missionary work in their younger years with Grace Bible Church in Manchester, MD. He was well-known for his love of tinkering and repairing things, most especially John Deere tractors and old cars. He also enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife on many trips. As a snowmobile enthusiast, one of his most favorite memories was of their month-long adventure to Yellowstone National Park. Although he had many interests and endeavors, he was always a farmer at heart, and was a proud member of the Christian Farmers Association.
Mr. Myers is survived by five children: D. David Myers of Crossville, TN, Dan M. Myers and wife Barbara of New Oxford, Debra L. Berwager and husband Tom of Hanover, Donna M. Seitz and husband Charles of York Springs and Darie L. Basom and husband Steve of Hanover; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
A funeral service to celebrate Maurice's life will be held on Friday, March 13th at 11am at Calvary Bible Church; 603 Wilson Ave. in Hanover with Pastor Dom Aquilino officiating. Private interment by the family will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Abbottstown. A time to share memories and visit with the family will also be on Friday at the church from 10am until the start of the service.
