Merle R. Raubenstine, 88 of York entered into Gods eternal care peacefully at home on Friday, December 22, 2023.  He was the loving husband of the late Millie A (Bankert) Raubenstine for over 51 years and companion of Janice Bafford for over 13 years.

Born January 31, 1935 in Pleasant Hill, he was a son of the late Clayton J. and Minnie G. (Masemer) Raubenstine.

As a 1953 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Merle was an avid Nighthawks fan and enjoyed attending those sporting events to cheer for his daughter and grandchildren.

After marrying in 1956, Merle traveled to Germany with his wife and brother while serving our country.
Merle was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his work. As a strong believer, he was a lifetime, faithful member of Calvary Bible Church in Hanover. He was a beloved father and grandfather who deeply cherished his time spent with family and friends. Merle worked for DN Wolf for over 35 years as a tile setter in many York County homes, and was a friend to all and received many compliments on his outstanding work. He is fondly remembered for his charismatic smile and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone.

Mr. Raubenstine leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, survived by his daughter Heather (Raubenstine) Wagaman, his son in law Timothy Wagaman II, his two grandchildren Timothy and Lillian Wagaman, and his sister Jeannie Wildasin, all of Hanover. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Earl R. Raubenstine.

A visitation and time to share memories will be on the evening of Wednesday, December 27th from 6-8pm at Calvary Bible Church; 603 Wilson Avenue in Hanover, and again on the morning of Thursday, December 28th at the church from 10-11am.
