Patricia "Patsy" Ann Buckley Carr, 86 of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. She was the devoted wife of the late John A. "Johnny" Carr. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
Born April 14, 1939, in Hanover, Patsy was the daughter of the late Harry E. Buckley Sr. and Dorothy C. (Bentzel) Buckley.
She was a 1957 graduate of Eichelberger High School and a faithful member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
Patsy retired from Arby's Restaurant in Hanover in September 2006 after seven and a half years of dedicated service. Prior to that, she worked for eight years with the Pennsylvania Unemployment Office.
Patsy is survived by her loving children: son, Michael A. Carr and his fiancée, Erlene Gaines, of Hanover; and daughter, Carol A. Scott and her husband, Kevin, of Arendtsville. She was a cherished grandmother to Kaitlyn Paige Scott.
She is also survived by three sisters, Janet M. Buckley of Hummelswharf, Carol D. Myers of Hanover, and Jacqueline L. Glass of California; two brothers, Robert P. Buckley of Hanover and Joel E. Buckley, of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Steven Michael Carr; a grandson, Brandon Jacob Scott; and a brother, Harry E. Buckley Jr.
A service to celebrate Patsy's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, with the Rev. David Breedlove officiating. A time to share memories and a viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Spring Grove and Hanover/ or a charity of one's choice.
