Pearl I.
Neff
Feb 25, 1932 — Aug 31, 2025
Pearl Irene Neff, 93, of Abbottstown, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Born February 25, 1932, on a farm in Thomasville, she was daughter of the late Burnell and Lucetta (Shaffer) Forry. She was the wife of the late Laverne A. Neff, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage until his death on September 1, 2008.
Pearl attended East Berlin High School, class of 1948. She was employed at Hanover Sewing Factory and Ken's Catering before owning and operating Pearl's Catering Lunch Truck. Through her business, she especially enjoyed serving the employees of Bowen-McLaughlin-York (BMY), now BAE Systems in York, until her retirement. In her leisure time, she enjoyed antiquing, gardening, and above all, spending time with her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
Pearl was a devoted member of Harvest Chapel in Abbottstown and lived her faith daily. She had a heart of gold, and her family remembers her as their Saint. Those who loved her know that when she entered Heaven, she was greeted with the words: "Well done, my faithful servant."
Pearl is survived by her son, Stephen Neff of Hampton; three daughters, Debra Hoff of New Oxford, Gwendolyn Rife of Abbottstown, and Bronwyn Neff of Hanover; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Burnell Forry, Jr. of Thomasville, and three sisters, Loraine Eisenhart of Abbottstown, Ruthetta Baker of Dover, Deanna Krout of East Berlin, along with many nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Cousler and LaVonne Krout.
Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held among family members. Pearl's earthly remains will be laid to rest beside her husband at Trinity Roth's Church Cemetery in Spring Grove.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Pearl's memory to Harvest Chapel, 6947 Abbottstown Rd, Abbottstown, PA 17301. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.WetzelFuneralHome.com.
