Pierre L. "Pete" Blum, 83, of Hanover, formerly of Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Susan A. Blum; together they shared 35 years together, being married 31 of those years.

Born December 10, 1937 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Agnes M. (Brengle) Blum.

Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend; he cherished his family and friends and loved spending time with them. Mr. Blum had an extraordinary life and did many things throughout his life; after leaving high school, Pete started his journey in the United States Air Force serving as a Military Police Officer between WWII and the Korean Wars and he was stationed in Japan; after honorably serving his country he went on to own a variety of different businesses some of which included a real estate broker, Crown gas station, garden center, restaurant & bar, and he even served as County Supervisor for Alpine County, CA. When Pete had free time, one of his greatest joys was being out in nature and hiking with his wife and dogs. He loved spending time out in the wilderness, gardening, and planting trees all over his property. Mr. Blum was a kind person, and his witty humor could always put a smile on your face.

In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by four children, Ravena Blumara and her husband Tyler Schwartz of Grass Valley, CA, Theresa Hughes of Baltimore, MD, Jennifer L. Hess and her husband Matthew of Spring Grove, PA, Jason E. Hahn and his wife Ryan of Sykesville, MD; four granddaughters; two great grandchildren; many loving extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Blum was preceded in death by a sister, Marylou Blum.
