Ray Alvin Daniel Bowman, 84, of Hanover, moved on into God's eternal world Sunday, October 13, 2024, at UPMC Hanover.

Born July 26, 1940, in Hanover, Ray was the son of the late Harold and Learma (Barnhart) Bowman.

Ray worked as a forklift operator, and was a loyal employee to SKF, where he retired after 30 years of service.

Ray enjoyed reading, watching movies and collecting things in his free time. Ray was a daily patron of the Famous Hot Weiner on Broadway for breakfast, and he will be remembered as such.

Ray is survived by his 2 children, Shelli Bowman and Anthony Bowman, both of Hanover, 6 grandchildren, Misty Groft, Nichole Orem, Zachary Bealing, Montana Bowman, Dylan Bowman, and Whitley Bowman, and 4 great-grandchildren, Kannon Rowe, Rylan Bowman, Colby Kraft, and Chance Jarocki. Ray was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Arlene Bowman, Beatrice Smith, and Marie McSherry, as well as 2 brothers, Nevin Bowman and Kenneth Bowman.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at 3 PM, Friday, October 18, 2024, at the home of Kathy and Tony, 206 S. Jefferson Street, Hanover, PA 17331.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ray's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, by telephone at (800) 822-6344, or by mail at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
