Rebecca E.
Little
Oct 28, 1940 — Jun 30, 2025
Rebecca E. (Gobrecht) Little, 84, of New Oxford, formerly of Hanover, PA, and Chesapeake, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover. She was the devoted wife of the late John Little, with whom she shared 23 cherished years of marriage until his passing in 2010.
Born on October 28, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rebecca was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Elizabeth E. (Shaner) Gobrecht. She grew up in Hanover and was a graduate of Hanover High School, where she first developed a lifelong appreciation for beauty and design.
Rebecca had a vibrant and creative spirit. She found joy in gardening, bowling, and golfing in her younger years, often alongside her beloved husband, John. She had a natural talent for cooking and a passion for interior decorating, always finding new ways to make her home warm and welcoming. Her flair for floral design led her to a fulfilling career with Cremer Florist and several other local flower shops, where she brightened countless lives through her artistry.
In addition to her professional life, Rebecca dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family. She was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Rebecca spent 25 years living in Chesapeake, Virginia, before returning to the Hanover area in 2013 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her son, David E. Brown, and his wife Nancy of Hanover, and her daughter, Julie M. Feddersen, and her husband Brett of Alexandria, VA. She was a proud grandmother to David A. Brown, Christopher D. Brown, Levi E. Brown, Alec M. Arentz, and Thomas C. Arentz, and a great-grandmother to four beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Hawbecker, along with many loving extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rebecca was preceded in death by her infant son, Christopher David Brown.
In accordance with Rebecca's wishes, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover on Sunday, August 10th from 1-3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rebecca's honor may be made to the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325, the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or to the Good Samaritan Fund, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350.
