Rhonda M. (Tate) Schwebach, 72, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 22, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of Virgil R. Schwebach, with whom she shared a remarkable 53 years of marriage, a bond built on love, friendship, and unwavering support.
Born on March 31, 1952, in Rogersville, TN, Rhonda was the beloved daughter of the late A. Quentin and Margaret E. (Barrett) Tate. From an early age, she embodied the values of kindness, compassion, and strength, which she carried throughout her life.
Rhonda was a pillar of love within her family. As a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, she brought joy to everyone she met. Family was at the heart of her world, whether it was spending time with her children and grandchildren or gathering for family traditions, her happiest moments were always with those she cherished most. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and nurturing heart will be remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her loving husband, Rhonda is survived by her two sons: Quentin Raymond Schwebach and his wife Christine, and Clinton John Schwebach and his wife Amanda. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Nita Hurd and Tammy Clark, as well as her brother, Arthur Tate. Rhonda was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. Her extended family and countless friends will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.
A service to celebrate Rhonda's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA, with Pastor Jason Myers officiating. Family and friends are invited to share memories and offer condolences during a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Rhonda will be laid to rest at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, MD.
Those honoring her as pallbearers will be Tyler Schwebach, Cody Schwebach, Garrett Schwebach, Cameron Hurd, Bill Hurd, and Phil Hurd.
