Obituary

Richard E. Day, 75, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the loving husband of Deborah A. (Shipley) Day; together they shared 52 years of marriage.

Born December 8, 1945 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Denton W. and Doris A. (Funk) Day.

Richard was an avid train collector and loved to do woodworking but above all he loved his family; especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren and the love of his life Deborah. Richard graduated from Hanover High School and then went on to work at P.H. Glatfelter, retiring in 2004. Mr. Day was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend and will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for the rest of their lives.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by four children, Constance M. Zinneman of Hanover, Stephen R. Day and wife Melissa of Spring Grove, Angela R. Day of Downingtown, Jeffrey S. Day and wife Renee of Aspers; a brother, Larry Day of Harriman, TN; two sisters, Leah Moul, Barbara Watson, both of Hanover; 12 grandchildren; two step grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Day is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Constance Day; a brother, Ronald Day and a grandson Corey Zinneman

There will be no public viewing. Following cremation, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
