Robert C. Markle, 84 of Hanover passed away peacefully at Transitions Healthcare Gettysburg on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.  He was the beloved husband of Noreen M. (Ensminger) Markle.

Born October 29, 1939 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Clair and Inez (Stauffer) Markle.

Mr. Markle was a 1957 graduate of Eichelberger High School in Hanover.  A professional Butcher by trade, he worked in his father's family business, Markle's Butcher Shop in his younger years.  He then worked at Nell's Butcher Shop and later at Utz Brands in Hanover.  A servant to this community, he was also a lifelong member of Eagle Fire Company in Hanover.  In his free time, Robert cherished time spent in the great outdoors while hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by two children: Molly S. Adams and her husband Chris of Hanover and Robert B. "Ben" Markle and his wife Betty of Thomasville; five grandchildren: Miranda, Evan, Madisyn, Dru and Lauren, as well as three great-grandchildren and one sister, Jean Boyer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Olsen and Dolores Smith.
