Robert "Bobby" Edward Mong, 77, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at his daughter's residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was married 58 years to his late wife Dixie L. Mong.

Born Thursday, November 15, 1945 in York.  He was the son of the late Catherine Mong.

Robert worked at Hanover Bronze and Aluminum, Penn Mar Foundry, and GSK for many years where he later retired.  In his spare time, he enjoyed working at Trailways Speedway.  He also enjoyed playing bingo and going to the carnivals.

Mr. Mong is survived by his children; Melissa Wetherington and husband Steve of Rockledge, FL, Melinda Geiman and her husband Tony of Hanover, PA, Kevin Mong and wife Denise of Bonneauville, PA, and Dixie Rishel and husband Dennis of Gettysburg, PA; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild is expected October 2023.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by 7 siblings.

A service to celebrate the life of Robert Edward Mong will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Pastors Ron and Missy Parr officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
