Robert M. "Bob", "Bobby", "Papa" Slesser, 75, of Hanover, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover.  He was the loving husband of Sharon L. (Jackson) Slesser, Hanover.  Together they shared 55 years of marriage.

He was born June 30, 1944 in Manhattan, NY, the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Shapiro) Slesser.

Bob graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in mathematics and retired from the Montgomery County Maryland Government as Director of the Telecommunications Department.  He was a sports enthusiast, playing recreationally and watching professionally.  Bob enjoyed classic rock, country and classical music.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael Slesser and wife Chi, Clarksburg, MD; daughter, Tina Etches and husband Julian, Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren, Ian Slesser, Hanover and Shayna and Callie Etches, Gaithersburg, MD and sisters and brother, Caroline Grimes, Florida, Sheri Fram and husband Jerry, Los Angeles, CA, dyan Price, Florida and Daniel Slesser, Florida.

A private viewing will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 10 AM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover with a service to follow at 11 AM with Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt officiating.  Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org .
