Roberta "Bobbie" G. Gibson, 88, of New Oxford, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 with her loving family by her side at Cross Keys Village Brethren Home Community. She was the loving wife of Ralph H. Gibson; together they recently celebrated 66 years of marriage on March 9th.
Born Thursday, December 13, 1934 in Charleroi, PA, she was the oldest of three children born to the late Joseph and Roberta (Arthur) Graeser.
Roberta graduated from Neville Township High School on Neville Island, Pennsylvania.
She was employed as a secretary in both Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Most recently she was employed at the YMCA in Hanover and worked at the front desk and taught water aerobics for many years.
Roberta was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Hanover where she taught Tiny Tots in the 70s and 80s.
Her greatest accomplishment and what she found immense joy in was being an amazing mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Bobbie is survived by her four children, a son, Jeffrey S. Gibson and his wife Connie of Wilmington, DE; daughters, Beth Rebert and her husband Lynn of Hanover, Tracy Zumbrum of Spring Grove, Melissa O'Gorman and her husband Scott of Arlington, VA; a brother, Joseph Graeser and his wife Barbara of Courtland, OH, and her brother-in-law Charles Fry. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Kevin Gibson, Sam Zumbrum, Jack O'Gorman, Joseph O'Gorman, Georgia O'Gorman, and Cooper Rebert, and many other loving extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Fry.
A service to celebrate the life of Roberta "Bobbie" G. Gibson will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Ave, Hanover, PA with Pastor Dominic Aquilino and Pastor Robert Greene officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be private in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
