Ronald William Eckard, 68 of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Hanover Hospital. He was the loving husband of Marilyn L. Eckard; together they shared 25 years of marriage.

Born January 4, 1951 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Raymond H. and Norma M. (Spangler) Eckard.

Ron was a graduate of Hanover High School class of 1969; after High School he went to work at Hanover Wire Cloth and continued to work there for 45 years, retiring in 2004. Ron was always willing to help others and loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. In Ron's free time he enjoyed playing around on the computer, loved practical jokes, was a devoted Yankee fan and loved to cook and bake.

In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by three children, Kevin Eckard and his wife Jennifer of Simpsonville, SC, Brian Eckard and his wife Jennifer of Littlestown, Tammy Ferguson and her husband David of York; a stepson, Paul Karl and his wife Chasity of MO; two brothers, Barry and Robert Eckard, both of Hanover; two sisters, Winnie Miller and Candy Kopp, both of Hanover. Ron is also survived by many loving grandchildren and step grandchildren.

There will be no public viewing; following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate the life of Ronald Eckard will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Hanover Seventh-day Adventist Church, 865 Gitts Run Rd, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Tyree Berlin officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be private in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4250 Crums Mill Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
