Rosa Elena Vargas Flores, 73, of York, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in Mt Joy, PA on June 18, 2026.

Rosa was born on June 7, 1953 in Chiquimula, Guatemala and immigrated to the United States in 1984

to create a better life for her family.

She will always be remembered as being a strong, independent hard working single mother of 5 who wanted

nothing but seeing her children succeed.

In her free time, Rosa enjoyed going to the casino and playing her favorite slot machines.

She was also a frequent yard sale hustler and enjoyed finding a great bargain.

Chili’s margaritas were her favorite drink to enjoy after a long day.

Rosa was tough on the outside but loved her children and grandchildren deeply.

Rosa is survived by her loving husband, Pedro Florian, of York, PA., Her 3 living children, Ernesto (Ingrid) Cordon of Reisterstown, MD, Sindy (Luis) Ramierez of Los Angeles, CA and Cristobal (Kristin) Cordon of Hanover, PA and her 10 grandchildren Cindy, Zuleika, Alexis, Heidi, Josue, Kevin, Jeanine, Sofia, Cruz and Roman.

Rosa is preceded in death by her 2 sons, William Cordon and Selvin Cordon and a granddaughter, Mikayla Cordon.

A viewing will be held for Rosa on Thursday, June 25 from 6-8 PM at Wetzel Funeral Home in Hanover, PA.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Wetzel Funeral Home.
