Roseanna M. (Talbert) Strevig, 100 of Hanover passed away peacefully at Hanover Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell J. H. Strevig, who passed away May 2, 1973.
Born October 31, 1918 in Hampstead, MD, she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Eliza I. (Grimm) Talbert.
Roseanna was a 1936 graduate of Hampstead High School. She later worked for Lincoln Bus Lines, where she visited all 50 states. Roseanna's passions were her faith and her volunteer work. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, and later of St. David's Lutheran Church in Hanover. In addition, she volunteered for the Hanover Area Council of Churches and was a member of Manchester Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. Most recently, she accumulated over 500 hours of service while volunteering to provide personal care to her neighbors at Utz Terrace.
Mrs. Strevig is survived by 2 nieces: Janice Croasman and Linda (Cooper) Jones and 2 nephews, David Cooper and Paul Benham, as well as many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Roseanna was preceded in death by 2 children: Joan McConnell and Russell D. Strevig and 4 siblings: James N. Talbert, Richard E. Talbert, Florence L. Cooper and Wenona L. Sirk.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 3 rd from 3-5 pm at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory; 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, and again on Monday, February 4 th from 10-11 am at St. David's Lutheran Church; 1032 Musselman Rd., Hanover, followed by a funeral service at the church to celebrate Roseanna's life, which will begin at 11 am, with Pastor LaDonna Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity UCC Reformed Cemetery in Manchester, MD. Please note: The memorial service previously scheduled, following interment, on Monday at 2pm at the Utz Terrace Community Center, has been postponed and will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. David's Lutheran Church; 1032 Musselman Rd.; Hanover, PA 17331.
