Obituary

Roy A. Boone III, 68 of Hanover passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. He was the beloved husband for 46 years to Carol A. (Heffner) Boone, whom he married on January 7, 1978.

Born November 7, 1955 in Westminster, MD, he was a son of the late Roy F., III and Agnes E. (Ludwig) Boone.

Roy is fondly remembered as an awesome husband, father. Grandfather and brother-in-law.  He loved his family to the fullest and enjoyed gathering with those he loved.  He also enjoyed going camping, to the dirt tracks, watching NASCAR and cheering for the Baltimore Orioles.  Making memories with his loved ones was his priority.

In addition to his wife Carol, Mr. Boone is survived by his two sons: eldest, Roy A. Boone IV and wife Shelby along with their five children: Ashton, Eliza and Bella Lubbers and Russell and Roland Boone; youngest: Robert A. Boone and wife Melanie along with their three children: Sydney and Zoe Jobst and Dustin Morea; his best friend and brother-in-law Phillip E. Heffner and fiancé Beth Sledge; his younger brother Dale R. Boone of Manchester, MD and a younger sister, Verdella White of Delaware.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger sister, Janet I. Fritz of Manchester, MD.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 1-5pm at the outdoor pavilion of St. David UCC; 142 Hobart Rd. in Hanover.  Military honors will be rendered at 2pm by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

For those desiring, charitable contributions may be made directly to the family to help offset costs for the Celebration of Life.  This celebration will be held for years to come.
