Ruth M. (Leese) Loss, 97, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Homewood at Plum Creek. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Edward Loss; together they shared 70 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.

Born Monday, August 30, 1926 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Charles F., Sr. and Myrtle M. (Yohe) Leese.

Ruth was a cherished figure in her family and community, she was not just a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but also a woman of many interests and passions. Her dedication to her family was paramount; she found immense joy in the simplest of family gatherings, cherishing each moment spent with her loved ones. Ruth's career as a line inspector at SKF in Hanover exemplified her remarkable work ethic and determination. Her years of service there, until her retirement, were marked by diligence and a steadfast commitment to excellence.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the compassionate care that Ruth received during her stay at Homewood at Plum Creek.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Vickie A. Little and her husband Dave of Abbottstown; grandchildren, Stacey Jo Krysiak and her husband Randy of Glenville, Daniel Gruver of Hanover; three great grandchildren, Kole Krysiak of Hanover, Brooke Krysiak of Manchester, MD and Alexandra Gruver of Hanover; one sister, Hilda Miller of Hanover; two brothers, Raymond Leese of New Oxford, Carl Leese of Hanover; two step-great grandchildren, Rob Hovey of Las Vegas, NV, Taylor Dale of Nashville, TN; three great great grandchildren, Collins, Andrew, and William Dale. Ruth is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by five brothers, Wilmer, Paul, John, Charles, and Dale Leese, and three sisters, Mae Goldsmith, Rhoda Potts, and Grace Adams.

There will be no public viewing. Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate the life of Ruth M. (Leese) Loss will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Todd A. Christine officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
